Hufflepuffs are heroes! These books were chosen because they feature friendship, loyalty, good deeds or love. I mainly picked Paper Towns because John Green is a proud Hufflepuff.
I had no idea that the bookstore in the movie You’ve Got Mail is based on Books of Wonder, a children’s bookstore in New York.
My list of the reasons why I read junior fiction, inspired by reading the article “Adults Should Read Adult Books” by Joel Stein.
Books for Remembrance Day for kids and teens.
What to read now that you’re somewhat grownup, based on your childhood favourites. I tried to make choices based on plot, mood, tone or themes. There’s a few other children’s books I wanted to include but I was stumped on, so maybe there will eventually be a part 2.
Some of my least favourites I had to read for school, so that might be why I disliked them so much. I had to read The Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan for Children’s Lit, and I barely finished it.
I read Breaking Dawn on my own time, and I couldn’t stand it. I’m not going to go to into it, since a lot of what I think has been said a million times, but if vampires do not age at all and humans age at a normal rate, why would a half vampire/half human age so quickly? Am I just being dense and missing something?
Anyways, those are two books I will never reread.
Mhm, I've wanted to be a librarian since I was 11. Currently studying English and when I graduate, I plan to continue on in grad school studying Library Information Science! Quite exciting. More specifically, I want to be an elementary school librarian because I love working with kids and I still love children's books. I also want to pass on my love of reading to next generations... help kids find books that they love, so they won't give up on reading.
Currently reading a book titled, This Book Is Overdue!: How Librarians and Cybrarians Can Save Us All by Marilyn Johnson. It's quite interesting and an easy read. And it's all about librarians and how wonderful they are!
Why did you decide on becoming a librarian?
Cool! I feel exactly the same way, except I want to be a librarian in Public Libraries. It sounds lame, but I love doing research and organizing, and I want to share my love of books with other people.
I'm in my twenties and I still read books that are technically for teens and children. My best friend's mom does too. It doesn't really matter who the book as aimed at as long as you enjoy it.
Same with me: I’m 23 and I read books written for kids, teens, adults whatever.
