Day 19 - Favourite book turned into a movie

To Kill a Mockingbird (1963), I Capture the Castle (2003), Pride and Prejudice (1995), Atonement (2007), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010). I think that all these movies are both a) great adaptations and b) great stand alone movies, if you haven’t read the book or even heard of it.

Jodi Picoult does a lot of POV switching in her novels. I wasn't sure if I should say this because all the books recommended look like they aren't "adult style" books (like romance and stuff). But I figured I would tell you anyway.

Thank you! I think Jodi Picoult has a YA book as well.

It’s very hot and I’m very bored

So I think that calls for a Harry Potter re-read. I re-read them all every summer when I’m starting to get really bored. And this time I can read 1-5 with my American editions and look at all the pretty chapter illustrations.

EDIT: Deathly Hallows is my favourite!

Have you read any Jodi Picoult books? If so, what's your favorite? :D

I’ve only read My Sister’s Keeper and Tenth Circle, and I would recommend My Sister’s Keeper. Prettybooks has probably read all of her books so she would be of more help!

do you have any recommendations of books about characters with aspergers?

I would recommend The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. I haven’t read it, but I know that House Rules by Jodi Picoult is about a boy with Asperger’s. Slightly irrelevant, but I enjoyed the movie Adam, which is about a man who has Asperger’s.

For the reader asking about books about the Holocaust, Jodi Picoult's new book 'The Storyteller' is based around the Holocaust. I finished reading it the other day and it really made me think.

Thank you!

Something similar to perks of being a wallflower,my sisters keeper or A thousand splended suns?

For Perks: It’s Kind of A Funny Story, Paper Towns, The Beginning of Everything and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.

For My Sister’s Keeper: I’m not really sure (other than other Jodi Picoult books) but I found a list here.

A Thousand Splendid Suns: Secret Daughter, I Am Malala
